Everything I’m wearing is old or sold out *sad face* so I linked similar options and the bottom of the post.
The Lesson:
So, I just washed and dried these jeans as I’m heading out of town and plan to take these with me and wanted them to be so fresh and so clean. While I enjoy the clean feeling of them they’re a little to stuffy, they don’t move as easy breezy as they do when they’re broken in. Some may say they are a little tight but whatevs.
As a general rule of thumb denim should be washed after an obscene amount of wears, they are not made to be washed after every wear. Once every 2-6 months is the suggested time frame in which you should wash your denim. This depends on how often you wear them and how much dirt you roll around in.
Getting to the point, the actual lesson on how to stretch out your jeans. Whether you put on a few pounds, shrunk them in the wash/dryer *raises hand* or bought a size down (Do NOT do that!) you can stretch your jeans out up to a half size.
Here’s how ….
- Put your jeans on.
- Get a washcloth wet with warm water or put warm water in a spray bottle.
- Dampen the areas you need to be stretched.
- Now Do Work! Squat, Lunges, lots of super lunges, Drop it like it’s hot and bounce a few times, seriously. I’d say a few good minutes of this will be good.
- Take your jeans off and allow them to AIR dry.
- Voila, you’re welcome! Your jeans should fit now or at least a little better than they did before.
Secret Squirrel Time. Once I had a pair of jeans that were so tight/too small for me and I put them under a running facet then put them on. They needed that much stretching, it’s not a proud moment and they still didn’t fit well enough for me to wear them.
The Outfit
I absolutely love the Rachel Roy line, like love!!! I literally check to see what’s new every month when the latest deliveries hit the stores. This top was one of my must haves and so I had it. The back of the top doesn’t move well so my reach isn’t great when I wear it and it wrinkles like crazy buttt I love it none the less.
These jeans are my go-to 7FAM skinnies that I wear all the time and the denim in question that I had to stretch out today. No one wants to sit on an airplane with a muffin top.
