First line of business: My shop Julia Marie is having a 25% off site wide SALE now through Jan. 1!!!! It’s a great time to get that Monogram you’ve been wanting. I’m wearing the 2″ Lauren Monogram here.
The Coupon Code is: ENDOFYEAR
Unfortunately, everything I’m wearing is old and past seasons. I’m linking some similar options below for you. I’d like to say that I am not a fan of plaid at all. I own maybe 5 plaid pieces including scarves so to make an investment purchase of a cape in plaid was a huge reach for me but I did it and I must say I love this cape just as much today as I did when I purchased it 2 years ago. Even though I’ve always loved the look of capes I’ve never purchased one or even tried them on until this piece and they do have their pros and cons. Wanna hear em? Here they go …
Pros: Cute, Dope, Polished. You’ll absolutely look like you have your life together just by throwing one on over your basic top and pant. The cape is a visual game changer.
Cons: You can’t drive wearing them, you don’t have much reach or movement of your arms and shoulders as a whole. If it’s REALLY cold this is a NO GO! I wore this one evening and felt every cold breeze of air but it was also like 20 degrees and I’m from the South so I’m sensitive to the cold. However, this could be great for weather in the 50″s (Pro)
Even though my Con list is longer than my Pro list I still stand 100% behind this purchase. This cape is one of my favorite holiday go-tos for Christmas and Valentines Day. You can wear comfy cozy pants and a top and still steal the show. I’d even suggest wearing a cape over a basic LBD with booties or OTK boots #swoon
