As I grow as a blogger and rebuild my wardrobe with essential basics a fun trendy pieces I am forced to dig deep in my closet and revitalize old pieces I haven’t worn in years, this art deco fit and flare dress included. Actually, I enjoy sharing old pieces to me to you for the first time because it somehow makes them fresh again!
With that being said I purchased this Juicy Couture dress (RIP) back in 2013 when I was a manager at one of the boutique locations. While it is a spring dress the fabric is thick and heavy for a southern spring. When I first bought this dress it was still cold out so I styled it with a black blazer, black opaque tights and black booties. It was fun to style this dress my favorite way, with sneakers! I love a dress with sneakers, it’s definitely one of my signature looks long before the fashion publications said it was “cool”.
The fit and flare silhouette is universally flattering, it takes off a solid 15lbs visually. Due to the waist skimming bodice paired with the flare of an a-line skirt the waist looks slimmer. Even if you’re a bottom heavy pear *raises hand* you can’t see or tell the hip or thigh size so it camouflages. If you are an apple shape it creates the same illusion of shape with the cut and structure of the fit and flare silhouette.
Fit and Flare is always a good go to style.
