Ya’ll I have been LIVING in these jeans, if you follow my Instagram you know truer words have never been spoken. They are insanely flattering, comfortable, universal, a blessing from the Lord. I recommend sizing down and they will stretch a bit. Keep in mind they are a slim boy jean and are meant to be a little loosey goosey. My weight is up right now (still working on those last 10lbs) so they are more snug fitting now but will still look amazing when I drop a few pounds, another reason I love them! I tried on a size larger to give me an idea as to how they’d fit when my weight is down (you know our weight fluctuates like cray, at least mine does!) and I loved them just as much.
I purchased this top with the intention of looking a little lady like but having room for bloat (I have IBS C and just lady hormones can set my digestive system into a rage of F you Bih, even if I’ve been eating clean) or when it’s hot and you don’t want anything touching your skin. Also, I have NO tops that aren’t a sweatshirt or T-Shirt material. Maybe I have a few but it’s not many lol. This top has been great, it’s not exactly flattering on my body type as it’s a bit over sized and the gingham print adds weight to the mid section which is the smallest part of my body besides my head. Regardless, I’m into it and wear it frequently.
SN: I’m trying to show my curves a little more as most people don’t realize my waist to hip ratio due to my wearing clothes that aren’t as fitting. I’ve been this shape since elementary school and was sexually harassed and assaulted as a child, tween, teenager and young adult so my defense has always been to cover up. Anytime, I wear anything too fitting in public alone I am sexually harassed and I just don’t like that attention. It scares me. Anything too fitting unfortunately includes jeans and sweats as well. *middle finger emoji* to all of the men who followed me in cars while I was walking to my car, across the street, my dog in our neighborhood. Or follow me on foot calling me a Bitch because I’m not interested in being yelled at with a “Hey girl, you sexy” or have literally RAN after me to “hit on me”. Ya’ll ain’t shit!
Unfortunately, these examples are just from the past few months. There’s not a blog post long enough to include every experience I’ve had.
With that being said, You guys have really showed a lot of love and appreciation seeing a woman’s body that resembles yours. I’m really inspired by you all to celebrate my body shape with looks that accentuate my curves, THANK you guys SO MUCH for that!
I am going to work on being more comfortable wearing fitting clothes for us, THE TEAM! We shouldn’t be afraid to wear clothes that make us feel good about ourselves.
On to the shoes 😉 My off white slides are a few years old that I snagged at Old Navy. I’ve looked since then for similar styles to re-up but couldn’t find any under $150. However, this style is currently all the rage so almost everyone has something similar right now. I linked a dope pair from Target that are under $30. I’ve also seen similar slides at TJ’s & Marshalls in the $20 range too.
